DAY 21 - REST DAY WITH THE LIONBERGERS

After I awoke and went down stairs, Doris treated me with a big country breakfast of biscuits and gravy.  Again, it wasn't looking too good outside in the morning, looking at the weather a large thunderstorm was stalling west of Dallas City, just sitting there and waiting.  After chatting with Jess and Doris until almost 10am waiting for the weather, I asked if they would mind if I hung around for another day and it was fine by them!

At lunch time we headed out and they met up with their grandkids and we all grabbed lunch.  Afterwards they showed me Snake Alley, where every year there is a bicycle race where cyclists race circuits up its 21% grade.

They then took me to the local museum close by which had a great cycling exhibit about early cycling history, snake alley, and local cyclists who went on to win big cycling events.

We them went back to the Lionberger's house where I passed out for a mid afternoon nap.  Jess, Doris, and the grandkids were going out for the night to watch a drum corp competition, which was fine with me, as all I wanted to do was catch up on my sleep!

I awoke around 7pm and remembered Doris saying they probably had some seam sealer in a pile of tent equipment that I could use, which I found, and pulled the tent out and went to work on the seams above the zippers for both doors.  Hopefully this should make it mostly thunderstorm-proof.

Then I updated the blog a bit and decided to go back to bed and get all the sleep I could!
